Beam Splitter
Is there a beam splitter available for usb cables, allowing two peripheral devices to be plugged in?
I have more peripheral devices than usb ports. Is there a beam splitter that would allow two devices to be pluggen into one port?
You are looking for an USB hub. You can get one of these devices in most electronics or computer stores.
Make sure, that you buy a self powered hub that has its own power supply, if you intend to plug several devices into it, that don’t have their own power supply.
A USB port on your pc can only provide 500mA of electrical power. If you use a lot of devices that draw more than 500 mA, some devices will not work correctly if you only get a so called bus powered Hub.
